About Us

Hello everyone, I am Elvin, the owner of Stringify. I started playing badminton when I was about 10 years of age with my parents and became very passionate at the sport. Although I play a lot of badminton, studies take precedence and I did not continue to develop myself further in the sport as I would have like to. Nevertheless, I spent most of my free time hitting shuttles with friends and college teachers who also happen to play the sport well. In my final year of college, I decided to enter the all-department badminton competition and managed to come in 3rd place, which was surprising as I never had any formal coaching.

I started stringing my own badminton rackets back in 2003 when I had the good fortune of joining the university badminton team in Newcastle University. Whilst I was training, my strings broke and being a student, I have no idea who to look for to restring my racket. After a while of fruitless searching, I decided to restring my own racket. With that in mind, I bought my very first racket stringing machine which is a drop weight one. 

After teaching myself how to string my own racket, I begun to provide stringing service to my team members at the university team as well as the social club. Roll on to 2025, I have done countless rackets, badminton mainly but also a number of squash and tennis rackets and have gain invaluable experiences in this field.

I decided to start Stringify as I enjoy servicing rackets and treat each racket that I work on as a piece of art (I have a habit of picking matching colour grips and string colours to the racket's paint job). I hope I will be able to meet your expectations and also that you will be satisfied with the work I do.
